Short breaks are just the tonic. Your mind & body will always thank you for a little "get away from it all" escape, and of course, we prefer to do it the active way! Here's an English mini-adventure idea for you to make space for in your busy calendar. You won't regret it.
In a Nutshell
This walking break is a quick getaway in England's walking heaven, the Lake District.
Distance: 32 miles of walking over 4 nights (3 walking days)
Grade: Moderate to Strenuous. Nothing too challenging, but a few ascents and descents to get the lungs working, so you should be a regular walker ready for an invigorating hike.
A few ascents are worth it for the views.
Where?
In the north west of England, the Lake District National Park is home to arguably England's most iconic, pristine, and picture-perfect outdoor adventurer's paradise. Stay in Ambleside, Patterdale, and Keswick, walking carefully selected routes around these areas which make the most of a short break, including panoramic views over the gorgeous Ullswater, and a visit to the village of Grasmere which Wainwright described as "the loveliest spot that man hath ever found".

Why Walk Here?
It's so beautiful, why wouldn't you want to walk here?! The landscapes have inspired Alfred Wainwright, Beatrix Potter, and William Wordsworth to name just a few. England's highest mountains and biggest lakes are here, and the towns and villages are tourist friendly yet still retain their character & charm. Squeeze in some highlights of the the Lake District National Park including Castlerigg Stone Circle and walks surrounded by the mountain peaks, crags and cliffs which epitomise the Lake District, with some truly stunning views.
