We’re living through turbulent times, and my thoughts are with anyone affected by events around the world.Â
It’s in moments like these that I’m reminded why travel matters so much.Â
Not just for seeing new places, but for the connections we make along the way.Â
I also want to say, if you’ve been affected by any recent travel disruption, we’re here for you. Our team has been working hard behind the scenes to help customers adjust plans and keep their trips on track.Â
Looking after you is what we do.Â

Last weekend, I was out gravel biking along the West Highland Way. I live in Milngavie, right at the start of the trail, and it was brilliant to see a steady stream of walkers heading north.Â
The season has begun. And honestly, it’s my favourite time of year.Â
There’s something special about this moment. The trails come alive again. People from all over the world are heading out to explore on foot, by bike, and on their own terms.Â
More than ever, travel gives us the chance to slow down, spend time with the people we care about, and connect with those we meet along the way. That’s what it’s really about.Â

Every trip you take with Macs also has a wider impact. We work with thousands of small, often family-run partners across the world. The places you stay, the people who move your bags, the cafés you stop at along the trail-your trip helps keep these local communities thriving.Â
It’s been brilliant to see more people discovering active travel, the Macs way. Over the past year, we’ve been featured in The National Geographic, The Telegraph, The New York Times and many more. It’s great to see this way of travelling getting the attention it deserves.Â

Behind the scenes, we’ve also been busy improving your experience. We’ll soon be launching a big upgrade to our app, making it even easier to access everything you need for your trip, right at your fingertips.Â
And a huge thank you to our community. Over the past year, you’ve shared more than 24,000 reviews after your walks and rides, stories, tips, and moments from the trail. We read every single one, and they help us make every trip even better.Â
2026 is our 23rd year, and it’s shaping up to be our biggest yet. We’re looking forward to welcoming almost 45,000 adventurers on Macs trips around the world.Â
My own family and I will be among them-we’re heading to the French Alps this summer. Ali and I can’t wait to get out there with the kids.Â
Thanks for being part of this. And for helping more people discover the world through active travel, the Macs way.Â

Where Are We Travelling This Year?Â
Travel isn’t just what we do-it’s a big part of who we are. Spend a few minutes with our team, and you’ll hear stories from the trail, favourite routes revisited, and plans for where to go next. The more time we spend designing trips, the more our own wish lists seem to grow.Â
So, we asked around: where are we heading this year?Â

Cycling the Canal du Midi – Gavin, Adventure Sales SpecialistÂ
"Cyclists are always chasing that perfect route - smooth paths, great scenery, and places to stop along the way. The Canal du Midi ticks all those boxes, especially when you can ride all the way from Toulouse to the Mediterranean."Â

Walking in the Scottish Highlands- Shelby, Customer Service SpecialistÂ
"As a big history buff, the Highlands are irresistible. Walking through places like Blair Castle and the historic site of Killiecrankie feels like stepping straight back in time - and the distillery visits are a great bonus."Â

Mallorca Coast & Mountains – Kaitlyn, Graphic DesignerÂ
"Mallorca caught our eye for its balance of mountain landscapes, crystal-clear turquoise waters, and vibrant energy. It offers the freedom to spend one day exploring scenic hikes and the next completely unwinding by the sea - truly the best of both worlds."
